A quick-ish card for the current My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge. When I can’t decide on a colour scheme I just go with a rainbow. Pulled out some older products from My Favorite Things and the silhouette stamps lend themselves perfectly to the rainbow scheme. This was also a great way to include more than one sentiment.
A quick blog post today as I’m trying to get this entered before the deadline for the current Inspired by Challenge – Cele-bear-ate. I wanted to use up some of my patterned paper so took this opportunity to do just that. My inspiration was simply the bear and using the stripes and lines from the inspiration bear.
Welcome to a new year…2021…and a new round of monthly challenges.
Congratulations to our guest designer this month – Melanie. Pop over to the AAA Birthday blog to see what Melanie has designed for her guest spot for this months challenge and be inspired by the rest of the Design Team cards. We also welcome our new design team members, Bhavya, Maaike, Nonni & Valerie. So exciting to have you join us.
First up we would like you to stencil a background. There are so many different ways to use a stencil; dry emboss, texture paste, ink, paints, glitters, embossing ink and powders – the list goes on and on… I’ve used a very cool turnabout stencil by Concord and 9th and I love how it turned out.
Over at The Library Challenge the current challenge is to pick any book cover from the last three years and using the cover, title or story of a selected book as inspiration. I used the colour scheme (red, white, blue and gold) and the stars as my inspiration.
I am entering this card in the current Inkspirational Challenge #229 and the theme is something in your home. For the last two Christmas’s I’ve had a summer themed Christmas tree (see picture below) as we are in the southern hemisphere and I want to reflect the season. This year I added some cross stitched ornaments (not made by me!). I took the floral, colours and cross stitch as my inspiration for this card.
Welcome to the last challenge of 2020…we’ve all faced different challenges this year so I hope this theme gives you a chance to have a play with glitter, stars or anything that puts a “TWINKLE“in your eye.
Congratulations to our September Animals and Critters challenge winner Claire. Pop over to the AAA Birthday blog to see what Claire has designed for her guest spot for this months challenge and be inspired by the rest of the Design Team cards.
To end this year on a high this challenge will be sponsored by Joy Clair. They are offering two $15 credits to be spent on digital products.
This is my entry for current The Card Concept challenge. I decided to try a Mixed Media style after watching some YouTube videos by Creations CeeCee and incorporated texture paste, watercolour and doodling. I was inspired by the baubles, the colour scheme (Is that navy in one of the candles?) and the filigree pattern. I also included the hand doodling to mimic the beads draped around the based of the candles.
I’m back for this month challenge over at AAA Birthday after having a crazy last month…family matters have to take precedence but after a number of weeks out of my craft room I have realised how much making cards and crafting fills my almost empty reservoir up! This month I went all girly with my DT card. Pop on over to the AAA Birthday blog and see all the neat inspiration our design team has come up with and we especially welcome Karthika as our Guest Designer this month.
