AAA Birthday – Game #22 – A Large Sentiment

Well it’s February already and time for shouting out Happy Birthday in a large format.

Congratulations to our guest designer this month – Helen. Pop over to the AAA Birthday blog to see what Helen has designed for her guest spot for this months challenge and be inspired by the rest of the Design Team cards.

One of my favourite stamp companies is Avery Elle and I recently purchased this yummy “Cake for All Seasons” stamp and die set.

Create a Smile – Guest Designer

I’m thrilled to be guest designing for the first time for Create a Smile Stamps.  Hopefully you are all thinking about entering a card into the current September Facebook challenge “Cute Critters“.

Create a Smile GD Sept 18-1

This is such a cute stamp set called “Cart full of Treasure”  and I added three extra balloons to the overall image.  All the images are copic coloured and to add the woodgrain texture I overstamped the cart with the wood stamp from the Concord and 9th set Joyful Noel.  The cobblestone ground was dry embossed with a Kaisercraft stencil over a Ranger Distress Oxide ink blended background and a darker colour blended over the raised portion with an ink dauber.

The speech bubble outline was stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with Zing Wave embossing powder.  I used Ranger Gold coloured embossing powder for the Happy Birthday.  After fussy cutting all the images and adhering them with dimensional adhesive dots, the final details of heart embellishments were added and glossy accents applied to the balloons and noses of the koalas.

Hope you enjoyed this card, thanks for stopping by.

Dress a Bear – Slider card

There are a few firsts with this card… 1. Making a slider card and 2. Adding a video to my blog.

When I saw the new release stamp set Dress Me Up from Create a Smile Stamps I had an idea to use a slider mechanism to dress the bears. Originally I thought I would have the clothes on the slider but decided (while out walking my doggos and mulling my idea over) to put Mr Bear on the slider instead. Excuse the nakedness 😜.

Watch the video below to view it in motion.

I love how Mr Bear’s clothes turned out… A little bit of checked fabric going on.

Other products used:

  • Mama Elephant Congrats all Round
  • My Favorite Things Dienamics Stitched Rectangle Stax
  • My Favorite Things Wood Plank background stamp
  • Ranger Distress Oxide Inks Ripe Persimmon and Candied Apple

I’ll also be entering this card in the latest Create a Smile challenge.

Thanks for stopping by.

Float on…

My third card using Create a Smile Stamps Gull Gang.

I think the water ripple stamp is supposed to be used as the aerial view of wood but I thought I could use it as part of the seagull floating. Heat embossed with Zing embossing powder in Wave. I then ink blended Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide over the top.

I also embossed the ripples onto vellum and cut out so I could make a focal point of the seagull. Adhered it with glossy accents. The seagull was simply copic coloured. The sentiment is from Wplus9 Whole Lotta Happy and heat embossed in Hero Arts white embossing powder.

Final touches by adding white gel pen ripples, droplet embellishments and glossy accent beak on seagull… And it’s done.

I’ll be entering this into the Create a Smile Facebook page challenge ‘Summer’.

Thanks for stopping by.

Arrr… Pirate seagull

My second card using copic coloured images from Create a Smile Stamps (sentiment is from Neat and Tangled). Their new Ocean Waves cling stamp is awesome.

I heat embossed the waves in Hero Arts white embossing powder and lightly ink blended Distress Oxide Blueprint Sketch over the top. The sky was randomly ink blended in Salty Ocean.

I’ll be entering this into the Create a Smile Facebook page challenge ‘Summer’.

Thanks for stopping by.

Fries over Exercise?

Definitely Fries over Exercise for me!   Love the images in this release by Create a Smile Stamps Gull Gang.  I had the perfect sentiment from Technique Tuesday Sassy Lazy Thoughts.

Copic coloured images, patterned paper background by Die Cuts with a View and scalloped die by CraftWise.

Two more cards to come in the next few days…

Enjoy

New technique – window card

Hi there

I tried out a new technique today that was inspired by a card I saw on Instagram made by Cards by Christine.  I decided on an ocean theme and I wanted to use some Create a Smile stamps and a new set of Ocean wave dies from My Favorite Things.

Oceanfun-1-2

Oceanfun-1

It came together reasonably quickly apart from a couple of false starts with the image colouring.  I also applied Wink of Stella clear shimmer to the two narwhols (haven’t worked out how to photograph shimmer yet).  The two back layers of the waves and the mama (or papa) narwhol are behind the clear window with the baby and front panel adhered to the front.

Oceanfun-1-3

The senitment is from Avery Elle “Bubbles”  and I heat embossed it 3 times in Zing Embossing Powder colour “Wave” (appropriately named aye!) to give a bit of extra dimension.

The clouds from My Favorite Things are ink blended on the inside of the card in Tim Holtz Distress Ink “Salty Ocean” (again.. appropriate colour name!).

This card could be used for a overseas trip, new baby or birthday.

Thanks for stopping by.
