Hey everyone. I’m back with another layout. This time it’s focussing on my youngest daughter, Teagan, and her final school ball in August 2015.
I love to try and combine more than one stamp set in a card because lets face it…we all have a few more sets than is practical!!! For this card I used WPlus9 Wishing You and Stamping Bella Scribbled Garden.
Continue readingFinally used one of those techniques shown on YouTube (you know the myriad of crafty video tutorials we all watch but never get round to trying)…and it turned out better than I imagined.
I used the Christmas Rose Bouquet from WPlus9 and the dies from Concord & 9th Season of Cheer. After colouring the image that I had stamped twice onto copic friendly cardstock all that was left to do was complete the frosting technique.
Before I committed to frosting the panel I decided to try my glitter on a smaller image just in case it covered up too much of the colouring.
The frosting technique is just double sided adhesive (I used Elizabeth Craft Tape which is very thin) adhered over the image and then glitter sprinked on top and burnished with you finger. Shake any extra off.
TIP: Head over to Therese Calvird’s blog at http://www.lostinpaper.com if you want to watch a video of this technique. or find her on YouTube.
Hope you try this soon. I’ll definitely be making a few more cards using this technique.
My third card using Create a Smile Stamps Gull Gang.
I think the water ripple stamp is supposed to be used as the aerial view of wood but I thought I could use it as part of the seagull floating. Heat embossed with Zing embossing powder in Wave. I then ink blended Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide over the top.
I also embossed the ripples onto vellum and cut out so I could make a focal point of the seagull. Adhered it with glossy accents. The seagull was simply copic coloured. The sentiment is from Wplus9 Whole Lotta Happy and heat embossed in Hero Arts white embossing powder.
Final touches by adding white gel pen ripples, droplet embellishments and glossy accent beak on seagull… And it’s done.
I’ll be entering this into the Create a Smile Facebook page challenge ‘Summer’.
Thanks for stopping by.
When I saw this cue card I knew I had at least three stamp sets I wanted to use soooo…here they are. There are 4 in total I’ve entered into the Casology Challenge #261 so I’ll try to keep the words to a minimum.
Spritzed cardstock with Heidi Swapp Color Shine ‘Citron’, diecut with leaves from Kaisercraft ‘Poinsettia’ and adhered the negative pieces of the diecut. Monkey and sentiment from My Favorite Things ‘Sweet Safari’.
Cardstock spritzed with Heidi Swapp Color Shine ‘Citron’. Background diecut (brand unknown) and used all of the pieces. Cut the die cut down with the My Favorite Things ‘Stitched Dome Stax’. The leaves were die cut from Kaisercraft ‘Poinsettia’ but this time used the positive cuts in white card. Giraffe and sentiment are from WPlus9 ‘Party Animal’ and coloured using Derwent Inktense Pencils.
I’ve been wanting to use this elephant from Katzelkraft ‘Les Jungles’ and wanted to keep it simple. Coloured with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. Sentiment is from Gerda Steiner ‘Monster Fun’.
Die cut Craft Wise ‘Scalloped circle’ out of American Craft cardstock. Placed some DCWV zebra patterned paper behind and once again used the Kaisercraft ‘Poinsettia’ leaves. Zebra and sentiment is My Favorite Things ‘Sweet Safari’ coloured with Copics. The sentiment is heat embossed in Hero Arts White as it needs a bit of dimension when stamped on textured card.
So that’s it…hope you liked them.
I’m loving my Katzelkraft stamps at the moment and wanted to use the giraffe from the ‘Les Jungles’ set in a safari scene. I had recently made a card with the Altenew ‘Lotus’ layering stamps and dies and realised that one of the lotus solid stamps turned upside down looks like a tree…perfect for what I wanted to achieve with the look of this card.
I first stamped the giraffe then cut a mask to cover it so I could stamp the background images. I used a couple of Altenew stamp sets – the ‘Lotus’ Stamp and ‘Birch Land’. I used ‘Birch Land’ for the branches and the leaves using second generation stamping and different shades of green ink. While I still had the mask on I used the My Favorite Things ‘Cloud’ stencil for the sky.
I then removed the mask from the giraffe and coloured it simply with Inktense pencils. The sentiment was from the WPlus9 ‘Party Animal’ stamp set. The card front was popped up with craft foam and I added a green strip of washi tape. Once I finished these steps I felt like there was something missing and decided to add three hand drawn birds to the sky with the Zig Cartoonist Mangaka 05 pen (The water-based pigment ink in this pen is also smudge-proof with watercolours and alcohol-based markers once dry).
I hope you enjoyed this card and thanks for stopping by.
