Cousin Fun – 12 x 12 Scrapbooking layout

Hey everyone. I’m back with the second of three layouts to enter into White with 1 Cyber Crop on Facebook. This time the challenge was to use a grid layout with white and blue. There were optional extras too – fill one of the grid sections with journaling or add stamping to your layout, so I added both of those.

I love these photos which were taken in 2013 at my side of the family’s Xmas get together. We pick a day other than Christmas Day that as many people can make and have a pot luck lunch…there are usually around 20 of us which makes up about half of the side of the family. These are a few of the cousins and I love seeing them still have fun playing games even though they are grown up.

Thanks for Everything

I’ll be entering this card in the current Southern Girls Challenge – Someone Special.

Images

  • I used an image from one of the challenge sponsors A Day for DaisiesPotted Gerber Daisies and coloured it with Copics.

Other items

  • I created the base to be a sliding window card. I used the outside frame from the Mama Elephant Fancy Door Frame die set, parts of the Sunny Studio Sliding Window Die and Memory BoxStitched Rectangle Layers.

Sentiment

  • Thanksdie is from Birch Press which has the coordinating shadow. The word was cut out of white glitter paper and coloured with copics. The shadow was cut out of Lawn Fawn cardstock.
  • For Everything‘ was from the Altenew Inked Rose stamp set.

Tip: If you don’t have the right colour glitter card you can colour white or pearl glitter with copic markers. It will then coordinate with the rest of the card and still sparkle.

Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.

Pink, Green & White…

I’ve had a really busy last week and haven’t done much cardmaking so decided to use a card challenge to kickstart myself again!

swatch451

I wanted to use some of my Memory Box floral dies and this colour scheme screams flowers. The Memory Box dies are great because you can use the outline alone, the outline and internal shapes together or just the internal shapes.

Pink Green and White-1-7

I first swiped Ranger Distress Inks in ‘Spun Sugar’ and ‘Picked Raspberry’ over card stock so I could die cut the flowers out.  I decided not to use the stem portion of the die and simply cut that off.  The dots in the centres of the flowers are Nuvo Crystal Drops in ‘Apple Green’.  The sentiment, from the My Favorite Things ‘Label Love’ is stamped in Altenew Crisp Dye Ink ‘Parrot’.

Pink Green and White-1-3

I decided to make a couple more cards with the same colour scheme but a different die from Memory Box – ‘Budding Peony’ and using Nuvo Embellishment Mousse ‘Citrus Green’, ‘Peony Pink’ and ‘Pink Flambe’ instead of Distress Inks, to add a bit of shimmer.

The sentiments are from Paper Smooches and Altenew and I decided to play with the placement a bit as I had seen a fabulous card by May Park of Mayholic Design using the sentiment as the stem.

Hope you enjoy them.

Oceans of Wishes Birthday Card

Ahoy there, matey?  Well, there aren’t any actual pirates on this card but that’s the only sea themed greeting I could think of ☠🚣.

Ocean-1

I recently had a request for a ocean fishing themed birthday card.  I find I work best if I have some idea of what I’m going to do so after a lot of research, a lot of thinking and a few sketches I dove into the blue!!! Continue reading
