Inspired by…Fruity Sentiments

I am entering this card in the current Inspired by Challenge – Fruity Sentiments. I have a few fruit based stamp sets but chose this one by Concord & 9th as it had a great sentiment I wanted to use. I ended up making a couple of cards (2nd one further down) but am entering this one as it is also based on the sketch.

Products

  • Concord & 9th Hugs
  • Sunny Studio – patterned paper
  • Craft Creations – Oval nested dies
  • Other products used
    • Altenew Inks – Citrus Burst, Maple Yellow, Honey Drizzle
    • Copic Markers – Y000, Y00, Y02, Y08, Y19
    • Signo White Gel Pen
    • Ranger Embossing Powder – White
  • Pink Paisley – Lucky Us glitter hearts

FIRST CARD

Lemons

  • Stamped lemons onto watercolour paper with Versamark Ink, sprinkled on embossing powder and heat set.
  • Coloured using Altenew Inks and a small brush with water.
  • I wanted the outside embossing line to be yellow for the skin rather than the white embossing powder so I just lightly drew over the embossing with a yellow alcohol marker. It doesn’t need to be perfect.
  • To finish off the lemons I used a white gel pen to randoming draw in squiggly lines.

background

  • Die cut an oval out of the purple gingham patterned paper.
  • Cut a piece of vellum larger than the oval and stamp the sentiment with Staz On Ink. You can do this before or after adhering the vellum to the back of the patterned paper.
  • Cut a piece of yellow striped patterned paper down to the correct size for the cardbase.
  • Adhere the purple paper to the yellow paper and then onto a cardbase.
  • Adhere the lemons to the front of the card with various thicknesses of adhesive. I used round glue dots and doubled these up for the top layer.
  • Finish off by adding three enamel hearts.

Second Card

  • Stamped lemons onto alcohol maker cardstock with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink.
  • Coloured using alcohol markers.
  • To finish off the lemons I used a white gel pen to randoming draw in squiggly lines.
  • Stamp the sentiment onto the purple patterned paper with Versamark Ink, sprinkle Ranger embossing powder over and heat set.
  • As I wanted the sentiment to stand out a bit more I added shadow lines with a fine tip black pen.
  • Adhere the purple paper onto a cardbase.
  • Adhere the lemons to the front of the card with foam adhesive or glue dots. Make sure you have some parts of the lemons off the sides of the paper and trim these down.

Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.
