Colour combination inspiration

As part of a cardswap group I belong to, each month we are given a technique to make a card with. This month it is a “Scrappy Strip” technique. It is such an easy way to great a really cool background with the added bonus of using all those patterned papers you are hoarding or those scraps you don’t know what to do with!

Follow this link to a video on how to create the background Scrappy Strip Technique.

Once I made the backgrounds I then used the colours in the papers to colour images for each card. I also had matching embellishments for the papers I used.

Of course my go to images for these cards were the Danielle Donaldson range of girls from Stamping Bella.

Custom cardstock

I had to colour my own cardstock for the background so to match the acid yellow in the gingham paper I used Distress Oxides: Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed and a touch of Crushed Olive.
