Sandy Toes

Boy, a week goes fast…I was too late to enter this card into the previous CA(s)E this sketch challenge but here it is anyway.

Background

  • Step 1 – Mask the shape with your preferred masking material.
  • Step 2 – Ink blend distress oxide inks over background. I used Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass and Chipped Sapphire.
  • Step 3 – Die cut sun shape from Concord & 9th Shine On stamp and die set.
  • Step 4 – Ink blend Distress Oxide inks on a separate piece of cardstock and adhere behind die cut opening. I used Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed and Wild Honey.

Images

  • Step 5 – Stamp images onto copic friendly cardstock (I use Hammermill brand) with copic friendly ink – Momento Tuxedo Black.
  • Step 6 – colour images with alcohol markers.
  • Step 7 – I used my Brother Scan n Cut DX1200 to cut around images. Otherwise you can die cut with coordinating dies or fussy cut.

Final Steps

  • Step 8 – Add extra details. I had to add sand for the Sandy Toes so used three different shades of Altenew Inks to suggest sand. I also added some white gel pen to shorts and blue glitter gel pen to hat.
  • Step 9 – Stamp sentiment. I laid out my images without adhering to check exact location of sentiment and stamped sentiment with my Mini Misti.
  • Step 10 – Adhere images with dimensional foam to pop up images.

Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.

Let’s play rugby

Hello again. This is a custom order I created recently. Happy I managed to purchase some of the Lily of The Valley digistamps before they stopped selling them and this image was a perfect fit for the recipient – Rugby Mad. Wanted to also try the My Favorite Things Double Slider Loop Slot dies for the first time and it worked perfectly.

lrm_export_2735134472966_20181022_1307279211626168282290833043.jpeg

The Mama Elephant  Swinging Borders and Lots of Letters sets were the perfect size to add in the corner as was the Sun from Concord and 9th  Shine On. Of course, my go to cloud stencil from My Favorite Things along with their grass stencil makes the perfect background.

Hope you enjoyed learning about this card.

Frosty Christmas

Finally used one of those techniques shown on YouTube (you know the myriad of crafty video tutorials we all watch but never get round to trying)…and it turned out better than I imagined.

I used the Christmas Rose Bouquet from WPlus9 and the dies from Concord & 9th Season of Cheer.   After colouring the image that I had stamped twice onto copic friendly cardstock all that was left to do was complete the frosting technique.

Before I committed to frosting the panel I decided to try my glitter on a smaller image just in case it covered up too much of the colouring.

Practice image made into a card – used Hello Bluebird Littles Holidays Extra stamps, and Typed Christmas sentiment.  patterned paper from Die Cuts with a View and Penny Black Antique Frame nested dies.

Here is the image before the frostiness commenced.

The frosting technique is just double sided adhesive (I used Elizabeth Craft Tape which is very thin) adhered over the image and then glitter sprinked on top and burnished with you finger.  Shake any extra off.

TIP: Head over to Therese Calvird’s blog at http://www.lostinpaper.com if you want to watch a video of this technique. or find her on YouTube.

Hope you try this soon.  I’ll definitely be making a few more cards using this technique.

Furry Friends

Love the latest release by Concord & 9th.  Decided to stick to using the Furry Friends stamps with matching dies for this set of cards (all except for the last card which used My Favorite Things Party die) and I hope you love what I’ve created.  I started by stamping all the images to try out some colour combinations using Altenew Crisp Dye Inks.  The layouts came together relatively quickly so the biggest decisions I had to make were which Die Cuts with a View patterned papers to use.

Tip: Added bling with crystals.

Tip: The gold foil on the paper made my decision for the embossed sentiment easy.  Using vellum between the layers help to make the deer stand out.

Tip: Adding hearts out of the same glitter paper as frame added some extra interest.

Tip:  Added diamante heart to continue the theme of marriage.

Tip: Masked off each set of colours on paper so I could stamp the wreath in co-ordinating inks.  Added Glossy Accents  to wreath for dimension.

Tip:  Added vellum to help the panda face stand out.  Added gold thread to add a bit of interest.

Hope you liked the variety.

Color Throw down – #474

Three challenges in one day…a miracle for me!  See previous post for the card I created HERE.

Entering the Color Throw Down challenge with this card.

Happy Anniversary-1

Used Concord & 9th Bits and Pieces Stamp set.  These stamps are leaves but the shape works perfectly for hearts.  Stamped with Altenew Warm Greys mini cube set and die cut with matching die for the popped up elements.  I wanted to add something to the background so in this same set is a stripe which I stamped in the same warm greys.  Added the black by stamping the three berries stamp from the Concord & 9th Magnolia Wreath set.  I added some Nuvo Jewel Drops in Grey Mist to these.

Happy Anniversary-1-2

The sentiment is the Lawn Fawn Happy Happy Happy.  Loved how I could add the black into the card without it being overwhelming.  That happy makes me happy!

This is the inspiration photo from the challenge and I’ve used the colours plus the branch effect. Super happy how this turned out.

MFT Color Challenge #84…and Inspired by all the little things

A quick-ish birthday card today.  Love this quirkly set by Stampin Up.

Hey Chick-1

Stamped with Versafine ink on Watercolour paper.  Coloured with Derwent Inktense pencils.  Added the orange accents with Kaisercraft Glitter Gel pens (didn’t photograph well) and accented the chickens hair (do chickens have hair?) with blue glitter pen.

Hey Chick-1-2

Used American Craft cardstock in denim and the Concord & 9th Many Thanks die set (I think this is going to be a favourite of mine this year) for the speech bubble.

As well as the MFT Color Challenge …

MFT_ColorChallenge_PaintBook_84

I am entering this card in the Inspired by all the Little Things challenge.  I’m sure thats a chicken in the bottom row of the inspiration photo.  I think the colours also suit this challenge.77

Challenge #16 – Anything goes

This month’s Challenge for Concord & 9th is “Anything goes”.

Challenge-16

Here is my card for this challenge.  A Christmas Card using different layers of the Concord & 9th Magnolia Wreath Stamp Set and matching die.  I decided to use different paper products to differentiate the layers.

Top layer: Stamped on card with Altenew Ink and then a bit of Wink of Stella sparkle.  I also cut this die cut into smaller parts to enable better positioning.

Second Layer: Stamped on Vellum with Hero Arts Unicorn White Pigment Ink

Third Layer: Plain die cut cardstock

Bottom Layer: Stamped on base card.

Joy to You-1-4

I used the “Joy” die from Taylored Expressions and triple embossed it with ZingMetallic Embossing Powder.  The sentiment is from the same set and simply stamped in Altenew Ink.  Fininshed off with a few Nuvo Crystal Drops in White (I may have gone a bit overboard on these!).

Buzz…buzz…buzz

Have you heard the Buzz? This is my entry for the current Color Throwdown #ctd456.  A new stamp set from Honey Bee Stamps ‘Busy Bees’ with the matching sentiment set ‘Bee-You-Tiful’. Heard the Buzz-1swatch456

I started with stamping the background with the Concord & 9th ‘Stripe Builder’ and Altenew Crisp Dye Inks and practised my plaid background designs.  I then simply stamped the images I wanted to use, coloured them with copics and  cut them out with my Brother Scan n Cut.  I popped the images up with various heights of foam adhesives to add extra dimension.

The extra little dotted flying lines and a few mini jewels in the centre of the flowers finish it off.

Challenge yourself

Hi Everyone.  Just a quick post today to enter this card into three challenges.

The hearts from My Favorite Things ‘All Heart’ were stamped in Versamark Ink, heated embossed with Zing Red Glitter powder, cut out with matching die and popped up on craft foam.  I then masked off the square on the black cardstock and applied Hero Arts Pigment Ink in ‘Unicorn’ over a Faber Castell diamond stencil.  The sentiment, also from My Favorite Things ‘All Heart’ was embossed in Hero Arts white powder, as was the line from Concord and 9th ‘Stripe Builder’ stamp set.  The most challenging thing about this card was taking the photo…who knew how tricky it is to take a photo of black cardstock!!!

Sparkly Heart-1-5

I’ll be linking this card up with the following three challenges:
