First card of 2018

A special card for a new baby.  Any guesses which gender…

New Baby-1

I’ve had this card in mind specifically for the new baby using this digital image ‘Row of boots‘ by Stamping Bella and love how it turned out.  Simple copic colouring on boots and booties (digital image from Bugaboo).  My Favorite Things Die-namics Congratulations Circle Frame cut out of white cardstock and coloured with copics to mtrch blue in boots.  White heat embossed sentiment from My Favorite Things ‘Welcome Baby’.

New Baby-1-3

Images cut out with Brother Scanncut and popped up with foam adhesives to give a bit of dimension.  Background paper by Sugar and Spice StudioNeon.

Challenge #16 – Anything goes

This month’s Challenge for Concord & 9th is “Anything goes”.

Challenge-16

Here is my card for this challenge.  A Christmas Card using different layers of the Concord & 9th Magnolia Wreath Stamp Set and matching die.  I decided to use different paper products to differentiate the layers.

Top layer: Stamped on card with Altenew Ink and then a bit of Wink of Stella sparkle.  I also cut this die cut into smaller parts to enable better positioning.

Second Layer: Stamped on Vellum with Hero Arts Unicorn White Pigment Ink

Third Layer: Plain die cut cardstock

Bottom Layer: Stamped on base card.

Joy to You-1-4

I used the “Joy” die from Taylored Expressions and triple embossed it with ZingMetallic Embossing Powder.  The sentiment is from the same set and simply stamped in Altenew Ink.  Fininshed off with a few Nuvo Crystal Drops in White (I may have gone a bit overboard on these!).

Thanks for stopping by.

You just gotta believe…

Long time no blog…I believe it’s time to publish another post.

I am starting to get into the swing of Xmas cards now and this one turned out great for me. I used the Mama Elephant ‘Me and My Yeti’ and ‘Yeti Sentiments’ stamp sets as well as Hero Arts ‘Winter Scene’ for the background trees and Impression Obsession Christmas Tree dies for the foreground.  Those trees were diecut out of Resene Paints paint chips.

Birthday Wishes-1

The background is simply ink blended with Ranger Distress Oxide inks in Cracked Pistachio and Broken China and then stamped trees with three green oxide inks (Lucky Clover, Twisted Ciron and Peeled Paint).

Birthday Wishes-1-2

A new product I tried today was Liquitex Glass Beads Texture Gel.  Its a transparent gel that you can also colour with paint, mixed with other mediums or paint directly over the top to achieve different looks.  I just used it straight out of the tub and think it gives an icy look rather than an opaque white for snow.  The hills were diecut with My Favorite Things ‘Surf and Turf’ die set.  All the images were simply copic coloured.

Birthday Wishes-1-3

Hope you enjoyed it and have a great day.

Buzz…buzz…buzz

Have you heard the Buzz? This is my entry for the current Color Throwdown #ctd456.  A new stamp set from Honey Bee Stamps ‘Busy Bees’ with the matching sentiment set ‘Bee-You-Tiful’. Heard the Buzz-1swatch456

I started with stamping the background with the Concord & 9th ‘Stripe Builder’ and Altenew Crisp Dye Inks and practised my plaid background designs.  I then simply stamped the images I wanted to use, coloured them with copics and  cut them out with my Brother Scan n Cut.  I popped the images up with various heights of foam adhesives to add extra dimension.

The extra little dotted flying lines and a few mini jewels in the centre of the flowers finish it off.

Casology Challenge #261

When I saw this cue card I knew I had at least three stamp sets I wanted to use soooo…here they are.  There are 4 in total I’ve entered into the Casology Challenge #261 so I’ll try to keep the words to a minimum.

Week 261 - Safari

Card No 1

Spritzed cardstock with Heidi Swapp Color Shine ‘Citron’, diecut with leaves from Kaisercraft ‘Poinsettia’ and adhered the negative pieces of the diecut.  Monkey and sentiment from My Favorite Things ‘Sweet Safari’.

Safari-1-10

Card No 2

Cardstock spritzed with Heidi Swapp Color Shine ‘Citron’. Background diecut (brand unknown) and used all of the pieces.  Cut the die cut down with the My Favorite Things ‘Stitched Dome Stax’.  The leaves were die cut from Kaisercraft ‘Poinsettia’ but this time used the positive cuts in white card.  Giraffe and sentiment are from WPlus9 ‘Party Animal’ and coloured using Derwent Inktense Pencils.Safari-1-3

Safari-1-9

Card No 3

I’ve been wanting to use this elephant from Katzelkraft ‘Les Jungles’ and wanted to keep it simple. Coloured with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.  Sentiment is from Gerda Steiner ‘Monster Fun’.

Safari-1-5Safari-1-6

And finally Card No 4

Die cut Craft Wise ‘Scalloped circle’ out of American Craft cardstock.  Placed some DCWV zebra patterned paper behind and once again used the Kaisercraft ‘Poinsettia’ leaves.  Zebra and sentiment is My Favorite Things ‘Sweet Safari’ coloured with Copics.  The sentiment is heat embossed in Hero Arts White as it needs a bit of dimension when stamped on textured card.

So that’s it…hope you liked them.

Bubble Chicks Box Card

Hello everyone

Today I’m showcasing a box card I created recently.  Stamping Bella ‘Bubble Chicks’ are the featured images which I coloured with Copics.   I wanted to create the effect of the chicks and bubbles floating high above the ground so used die cut tree shapes by My Favorite Things ‘Trees in the Forest’ to create a tree top effect.  They are diecut out of cardstock that I had ink blended with Ranger Distress Inks and then splashed water drops over to create a mottled effect.

Bubble chicks-1-2

The house and clouds were die cut with My Favorite Things ‘Home Sweet Home’.  The floating effect is achieved by used 250gsm binding cover acetate cut into small strips.  This weight of cover is very sturdy.

Bubble chicks-1-3

All of the sky sections were ink blended with Ranger Distress Inks.

A Novel Birthday…

Welcome to my blog today.  I have a birthday card with the main image by Stamping Bella Uptown Girl ‘Betty loves Books‘.  Stamping Bella images are great to colour, not too much detail that you get overwhelmed but enough to do a bit of simple blending with copics to give dimension to the dress.

Novel Birthday-1-6

I stamped, coloured and diecut a vase of flowers from My Favorte Things ‘Our Story’ stamp set to replace the apple that was in the original image…the recipient of this card doesn’t like fruit!!!  I also coloured and cut out the book again and popped it up with thin foam adhesive.

The sentiment was also from ‘Our Story’ and I placed it vertically to echo the feel of the stacks of books and those lovely long legs of Betty.

Novel Birthday-1

I always struggle with backgrounds.  I wanted something subtle but also a little bit special and knew this could be achieved with Ranger Perfect Pearls.  I first stamped the background using My Favorite Things ‘Denim’ stamp with the sticky ink that comes with the Perfect Pearls (you can also use Versamark).  I then dusted the Perfect Pearls over the top, brushed the excess off and misted it lightly with water to set the Perfect Pearls.

The final step was to apply some clear Wink of Stella to the book and vase, Nuvo Crystal Drops to the flowers and some glossy accents to the glasses…so cute!

Novel Birthday-1-4

Hope you enjoyed this card.
