New technique – window card

Hi there

I tried out a new technique today that was inspired by a card I saw on Instagram made by Cards by Christine.  I decided on an ocean theme and I wanted to use some Create a Smile stamps and a new set of Ocean wave dies from My Favorite Things.

Oceanfun-1-2

Oceanfun-1

It came together reasonably quickly apart from a couple of false starts with the image colouring.  I also applied Wink of Stella clear shimmer to the two narwhols (haven’t worked out how to photograph shimmer yet).  The two back layers of the waves and the mama (or papa) narwhol are behind the clear window with the baby and front panel adhered to the front.

The senitment is from Avery Elle “Bubbles”  and I heat embossed it 3 times in Zing Embossing Powder colour “Wave” (appropriately named aye!) to give a bit of extra dimension.

The clouds from My Favorite Things are ink blended on the inside of the card in Tim Holtz Distress Ink “Salty Ocean” (again.. appropriate colour name!).

This card could be used for a overseas trip, new baby or birthday.

Thanks for stopping by.

Fare thee well…

A couple of farewell cards I made last week to go down to the Malaghan Institute of Medical Research for sale.

The first card has a background  blended with Distress Inks over a Cloud Stencil and word cut out with Little Letters dies from My Favorite Things.  Plane and heart smoke trail stamps are Plane and Simple from Lawn Fawn.  A bit of Glossy Accents on the plane wing and propellor.

The second card is a nod to the work the Malaghan Institute do.  Letters cut out from Bronze Metallic card stock with Bold Alphabet Die from Altenew.  Chemistry die cuts are from My Favorite Things Chemistry Set and sponged with Distress Inks.

So thanks for stopping by and have a great day.
